When she’s not deep into analytics, thinking through ways to improve processes, or crafting marketing campaigns, Katelyn’s probably reading something interesting she saw on Twitter. Marty Steyer, an accomplished technical writer, founded Steyer in 1998 to connect his large network of fellow technical communicators to hiring managers at Microsoft and other tech companies in the Seattle area. His high bar for quality and his commitment to running the business with integrity gave Steyer a rock-solid reputation in the Pacific Northwest; both clients and consultants learned they could trust Steyer to understand the nuances of their work and partner with them in achieving their content goals.
In 2014, Marty handed over day-to-day operations to Kate Walton, a content expert herself. Over the next few years, Steyer invested heavily in scalable infrastructure, business development, managed services capabilities, and diversification across a wide range of clients. With strong and growing offerings in content areas beyond technical writing, Steyer also opened a California office and began to build a presence in the Bay Area.
In 2017, Kate purchased the company. The ownership transition continues the evolution of Steyer from a content-focused staffing company to a full-service content agency, well positioned to meet the market’s growing need for high-quality technical and marketing content.
