Martin Steyer Marty founded Steyer Associates in 1998 after working as a technical writer, programmer writer, and project manager. He has a unique advantage of bringing first-hand knowledge of technical communications to the staffing business. Marty received a B.A. in English and Linguistics from the University of California at Berkeley and a M.A. in English from Harvard University. What Marty enjoys most about his job is helping to create a work environment that enables people to do great work and clients to get great results. Steyer has a great team, which makes going to work very satisfying. When Marty is not working, you are likely to find him on the tennis court or golfing. He is also an avid traveler, where he takes photos of nature and places of interest. |

Kate Walton Kate has over 15 years of experience hiring and managing technical and communications talent in a wide range of professional environments — from start-ups to agencies to large corporations. In addition, Kate has personally worked as a writer, producing speeches, presentations, white papers, and other key documents for high-profile senior executives. Kate has a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Kate lived and worked in Asia (Taiwan and Hong Kong) for six years before returning to the States in late 2008. She loved life as an expat but is delighted to be surrounded on Bainbridge Island both by family and by any number of opportunities for outdoor adventure. Kate’s free time is devoted to two energetic toddlers and to the ongoing development of Work Stew, an online collection of essays and interviews in which people ponder their work lives. |

Aaron Berntson Aaron comes to Steyer Associates with over 20 years of Sales and Sales Management experience in a variety of verticals. His competitive nature and "win-win" approach to business will help expand the Steyer Associates family of candidates and customers. Aaron is excited to be a part of such a focused and dynamic team. He received his B.A. in South Asian Language and Literature from the University of Washington. When Aaron is not at work, you’ll most likely find him with his family or training and racing on his bike. |

Lisa Kniginyzky After receiving a B.B.A. from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX with a major in Accounting, Lisa gained 15 years accounting experience through various positions in Texas, Oklahoma, and Washington. In 2004, Lisa joined Steyer Associates as Office Manager and was quickly promoted to Business Manager. In this capacity, she has continued to take on increased responsibilities at Steyer. Lisa believes that diversity is key to a great job, and she definitely finds that working at Steyer. Her workload covers the gamut from accounting to invoicing to forecasting and beyond. Lisa notes that working with a great group of people makes coming to work every day a privilege, and of course the four mile commute doesn’t hurt. When Lisa is not working, she loves being outdoors riding her bike or taking walks (if it’s not raining). Kayaking is one of her favorite things to do, and one day she hopes to own her own kayak. Reading a good book, watching TV, and talking to her daughter on the phone help round out her day. |

Nicole Shelton Nicole relocated to Washington in 1998 from Bloomington, Indiana. She attended Indiana University where she worked towards a degree in Early Childhood Education. Nicole worked in the building materials industry for 10 years as a human resource manager. As an HR manager, she was responsible for implementation of the company's recruitment, payroll, benefits and employee relation programs. Nicole is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is certified by HRCI as a Professional in Human Resources. Whether it’s explaining variances between medical plans, or troubleshooting computer problems, Nicole enjoys helping people through her job. Her colleagues at Steyer will tell you that she is a master multi-tasker. Nicole claims that she really likes being in control of payroll…who doesn’t love the payroll person? When she is not working, Nicole enjoys running and playing guitar (but not at the same time). She is a talented baker as well — much to the demise of her co-workers’ diets! Her daughter keeps her busy too. |

Matthew Hadlock Matt has been an IT professional for 12 years. He is certified and experienced in a variety of technologies, including Microsoft server and desktop operating systems, Microsoft Exchange Server, Windows Small Business Server, Cisco firewalls and routers, and Avaya phone systems. He also has experience troubleshooting and repairing server and desktop hardware. Matt is our IT guru when it comes to solving complex problems and learning new things. He’s genuinely interested in helping people better use technology. When he is not working, Matt volunteers backstage with sound and lighting at our local community theater, or works on various projects around his house. Matt also enjoys spending time with his wife, and his friends and family. |

Patty Molloy Patty has a Masters in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley and over 20 years of management experience as a trainer, product developer, and evaluator. She joined the company in 2009 to assist with business development and marketing efforts. Patty’s attention to detail and writing prowess balance the creative energies and financial acumen of the back office staff. She enjoys working with such a talented team of professionals. When she is not working, you will find her training for a backpacking adventure, blogging about her travels, or reading for one of her book groups. |

Brian Steyer Brian joined Steyer Associates in 2011 as a Social Media Expert. In a work environment that recognizes the importance of social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin, Brian provides a unique perspective that allows Steyer Associates to communicate effectively with high-tech clients and prospective candidates. Brian believes that the Management Team’s commitment to hiring talented individuals provides a foundation for a great a work experience at Steyer. In 2010, Brian graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in International Studies. When Brian is not working he enjoys cooking, blogging, yoga, farmer’s markets, and learning languages. |
